Cisco Collaborates With HP in Global Delivery of Unified Communications
| Source: Cisco Systems, Inc.
SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - August 6, 2008) - Cisco (NASDAQ : CSCO ) today announced the
expansion of its relationship with HP to
enhance the delivery of Cisco® Unified Communications (UC) to
customers around the world. The expanded relationship includes investments
by both companies for training and building global marketing and sales
programs.
"Many of our customers have trusted relationships with HP for managing a
wide array of unified communications and other applications," said Rick
McConnell, vice president of Unified Communications Market Development for
Cisco. "Cisco is committed to working closely with HP to provide our
mutual customers more integrated, adaptive collaboration solutions that
meet their specific business needs today and tomorrow."
HP helps customers in every stage of the UC service delivery process, from
finding appropriate starting points and identifying particular solutions to
achieve desired business results, to deploying, managing and supporting
integrated solutions. This expanded relationship builds on the established
Cisco and HP strategic relationship serving global customers, such as the
Johor State Government, Malaysia; Heritage Valley
Health System, United States; Parts for Trucks, Canada; and Electro Sonic,
Canada. The Bucks New University of Buckinghamshire, England, recently
selected HP to deploy Cisco Unified Communications.
"We are working in partnership with HP and Cisco, who have become the
primary suppliers of unified communications products and services to the
university. Their services will transform the learning experience for our
students by providing the ability for staff and students to collaborate in
innovative ways through the deployment of a converged voice, video and data
network," said Derek Godfrey, pro vice chancellor of Research, Enterprise &
Operations at Buckinghamshire New University. "We are confident that the
relationship will put us at the forefront of innovation in education.
"HP has global strategic alliances with both Cisco and Microsoft, and HP has a wide
range of expertise in deploying both companies' unified communications
solutions. HP is thus a global services partner of choice for customers
looking to integrate Cisco and Microsoft-based UC solutions to meet their
specific business needs.
"Companies are increasingly transforming their communication and
collaboration environments to speed decision making and lower costs. They
need to do this without diverting valuable technology resources and driving
up operational expenses," said Dan Socci, vice president, Network Solutions
for HP. "HP works with industry-leading unified communications technology
providers such as Cisco and Microsoft to provide solutions tailored to meet
the specific needs of customers."
With additional services available from Cisco's Customer Advocacy Group, HP can provide customers with
deep expertise on the Cisco UC solution suite. HP is a Cisco Global
Commerce and Global Certified Partner and offers services for a wide range
of Cisco Unified Communications and mobility solutions, including Internet
Protocol Telephony (IPT) network analysis, preparation, design,
implementation, operation, design and support. HP has earned more than
