Cistera Extends Event Alerting and Notification Solutions

Newest Products Enable Custom Triggering of Alerts and Delivery of Notifications to Cellular and Analog Telephones

DALLAS, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 29, 2006 -- Cistera Networks Inc. (OTCBB: CNWT), the leading provider of advanced IP phone platforms and application engines in the Enterprise VoIP Telephony environment, announced today that it has expanded the functionality of its popular Event Alerting and Notification Solutions offerings, RapidBroadcast™ and LandMobileRadioConnect™, with the release of Cistera QuickConnect™ for the support of notification to cellular and analog telephones.

Cistera QuickConnect works seamlessly with the company's OpenTrigger™ application programming interface (API) and with Cistera's other application engines including VirtualDirectory™ and CallCenterRecord™ Enterprise to provide the most comprehensive solution available for the delivery of outbound messaging to cellular and analog telephones. OpenTrigger, Cistera's flexible API, allows a user to set the parameters to launch notification to a select group of communication devices. Its utility is enhanced by its ability to interface with third-party integration services such as AAC's K-12 Phonetop® Student Management System. QuickConnect integrates with the Short Message Services (SMS) of most major wireless carriers, including Cingular, Verizon, Sprint and many others, to deliver real-time voice and text messaging to cell phones and voice delivery capability to analog phones.

"Cistera QuickConnect offers the most advanced outbound dialing, SMS and notification solutions for Cisco and Nortel environments. We are currently beta testing these products with customers in the financial services and healthcare vertical markets," said Gregory T. Royal, Chief Technology Officer. "Some of the most exciting possibilities for this offering are in emergency responder services and Public Safety for providers such as Air Ambulances and Transit Authorities. No other company enables users to simultaneously send alerts and notifications beyond the IP network to cell phones and analog phones."

Cistera QuickConnect and OpenTrigger will be generally available in the 4th calendar quarter of 2006.

"Cistera was early in the Enterprise VoIP Applications market, and now that the market has moved beyond the early adopter phase, our deep experience is allowing us to extend the possibilities of IP Telephony well beyond the phone," commented Derek Downs, President and acting CEO. "The release of QuickConnect is a major step for us, as it can operate independent of the IP PBX, and opens the door to the possibility of subscription offerings for customers that require notification capabilities and prefer to use a hosted service."

The Cistera ConvergenceServer (CCS), with its robust suite of application engines, adds features and functionality to IP Telephony deployments for users of Cisco and Nortel Unified Communication Services. These application engines are offered in four solution sets including: Event Alerting and Notification, Quality Assurance and Compliance, Collaboration and Communication, and Presence Solutions. The company has completed over 500 installations for customers in the United States, Canada and Europe.
