City Council 2010 Operating Budget Vote

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 17, 2009) -

Vancouver City Council is slated to vote tomorrow on its entire 2010 operating budget. The Vision-dominated Council already accepted in principle plans to cut upwards of 177 FTEs (full-time jobs or equivalent) and service cuts totaling $33 million from a forecast budget shortfall of $61 million. Council is now set to vote on those cuts as well as changes it claims are necessary to make up the remaining $28 million.

Presidents from the three CUPE locals representing unionized city workers will attend the Council meeting and will be available to speak with the media following the vote.
