Closed Areas for Shellfish Harvesting North Shore

QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 21, 2009) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, wants to inform the North Shore population that the harvesting of shellfish is now forbidden due to toxicity, in accordance with the prohibition order mentioned below, and pursuant to subsection 3(1) of the Management of Contaminated Fisheries Regulations, in the following shellfish area :

Iles Penchees

From Pointe a Georges-Morneau to a point in front of Ilets Boises.

Banc Marie-Marthe (Ile Laval)

From a point at east of Riviere Laval's channel to a point on shore, north of Ile Brulette's west side.

Baie des Plongeurs

Baie des Plongeurs, from the southern point of Baie Didier to Pointe Orient.

Anse du Colombier

From a point located 300 meters east of Riviere Colombier's mouth to Cap Colombier's lighthouse.

Pointe a Boisvert

From a point near of the sawmill to Pointe a Boisvert's navigation light.
