CloudShare First Company to Announce VMforce Support

Patent-Pending FastUpload and Free CloudShare Pro Offering Serve as 'Onramp' to VMforce

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwire - April 27, 2010) -  CloudShare today became the first ecosystem vendor to announce full support for VMforce, the joint venture of Salesforce.com and VMware that was revealed earlier today. CloudShare's patent-pending FastUpload feature and free CloudShare Pro offering -- both currently available -- enable users to run the Spring framework and other applications in VMware virtual machines on their local desktops, then upload the full VMware-based virtual IT environments into the Cloud in minutes to stage and test the code performance in the Cloud. Users can then seamlessly move the code over to VMforce, knowing it's pre-tested and VMforce-ready.

CloudShare is no stranger to Salesforce.com and VMware. Paul Maritz, VMware's CEO, was quoted at CloudShare's Launch, while Kendall Collins, Salesforce.com's CMO, was featured in CloudShare's AppExchange debut. CloudShare's integration was subsequently featured as the App of the Week. VMware is also a CloudShare customer; the VMware Appliance Marketplace App on Demand feature is powered by CloudShare.

"CloudShare enables exact replication of full IT environments from local to Cloud -- from Spring on VMware in an in-house IT environment to that same stack in the Cloud, including the full virtual machines," said Zvi Guterman, CEO of CloudShare. "Complementary to pure PaaS hosting services like VMforce, CloudShare's ITaS is the easiest, fastest onramp for companies to get IT into the Cloud. Think 'Star Trek Teleporter meets IT Infrastructure.'"

"Delivering a competitive advantage to organizations via software is a requirement of today's modern business world. Allowing a complete replication of an IT environment via the cloud with analytics, reporting, and most importantly performance represent a low-risk transition to the cloud. Performance is one of the most critical components of cloud computing," said Theresa Lanowitz, founder of analyst firm, voke.

CloudShare's technology is already in use by Fortune 500 software sales engineers, IT professionals and enterprise teams for sales demos, POCs, and training. Since the launch of CloudShare Pro in February 2010, over one thousand sales, IT, training, and other business users have adopted CloudShare Pro, creating over several thousand hands-on IT environments and generating over ten thousand VM demo hours.
