Codenomicon to Offer Bluetooth Robustness Test Tools Using Open Interface North America's BLUEmagic 3.0 Protocol Stack

SAN JOSE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 30, 2006 -- Codenomicon, a leading vendor of software testing tools, and Open Interface North America, a leader in Bluetooth wireless technology solutions, today announced that Codenomicon will integrate the Open Interface BLUEmagic 3.0 embedded Bluetooth protocol stack into its Bluetooth robustness test tools.

"We evaluated a broad range of options and selected the Open Interface BLUEmagic 3.0 Bluetooth protocol stack to be integrated in our tools. I am pleased to license software from Open Interface, a recognized leader in Bluetooth stack development. This will allow and ensure the rapid acceleration of the development of our Bluetooth product line," stated Isaac Sundarajan, CEO of Codenomicon.

Codenomicon Bluetooth Test Tools verify a Bluetooth implementation's ability to handle invalid or malformed Bluetooth data packets. The Codenomicon family of Bluetooth Test Tools consists of a set of tools, each designed to test a particular Bluetooth protocol layer or profile. Each test tool embodies tens of thousands of ready-made test cases, saving considerable setup time and allowing testing to begin immediately. Use of the Codenomicon Bluetooth test tools results in improved product stability and security and greatly reduces device manufacturers' time to market and implementation costs.

"Consumers expect products bearing the Bluetooth logo to simply work, and robustness and security are critical factors affecting usability and customer satisfaction; Codenomicon has a solid reputation in robustness and security testing," stated Greg Burns, CTO of Open interface. "We are proud that BLUEmagic 3.0, one of the most robust Bluetooth implementations in the industry, has been chosen as the basis for Codenomicon's Bluetooth Robustness Test suite."
