Cogeco Cable Offers Free Long Distance Calling to Haiti

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Jan. 18, 2010) - Cogeco Cable (TSX:CCA) today announced that it is offering free, unlimited long distance calling to Haiti for a one-month period starting January 12, 2010. Following the January 14 announcement that it would donate $50,000 to the Red Cross to support the response to the violent earthquake that shook Haiti last week, Cogeco Cable looked for other ways to help surmount the tragedy.

"Cogeco joins other Canadian companies in their efforts to lessen the burden of this tragedy," said Ron Perrotta, Vice President, Marketing and Strategic Planning of Cogeco Cable. "The misery caused by the January 12 catastrophe is already unimaginable. We believe that offering our customers long distance calling to Haiti may bring them some comfort, allowing them to reach out to friends and family without worrying about long distance fees."

All calls to Haiti by Home Phone customers in Quebec and Ontario between January 12 and February 12, 2010 will be free of charge.
