Cogitore Annnounces New Copper-Zinc Intersections at Scott Lake

Cogitore intersects 34.5 metres grading 1.8% copper, 9.4% zinc, 0.4 g/t gold and 69.5 g/t silver within larger mineralized envelope of 62.8 metres grading 1.2% copper, 7.6% zinc, 0.3 g/t gold and 49.7 g/t silver

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 15, 2009) - Cogitore Resources Inc. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:WOO) is pleased to report the results of the first two diamond drill holes, SC-41 and SC-42, of the Company's fall drilling program on its 100% owned Scott Lake Project. The positive results of these two drill holes extend, by at least 100 metres, the strike length of known mineralization intersected in holes SC-34 (see press release dated January 12/09) and SC-40 (see press release dated May 19/09).

Results of mineralization intersected in drill holes SC-41 and SC-42 are shown in the tables below:

All results are weighted averages. Based on core angles and on the current structural interpretation, the core length in SC-41 is approximately true width whereas in SC-42 the true width is likely 86% of core length. Un-mineralized dykes within mineralized intervals are included in the calculations at zero grade.

Dr. Gerald Riverin, the Company's President & CEO commented, "It is significant that these holes have extended the West Lens by 50 metres to the east and west of holes SC-34 and SC-40, and that the massive sulphide mineralization remains open along strike in both directions. Company management is highly encouraged by the tonnage potential in this sector, based on the large thickness intersected in drill hole SC-42. Moreover, the zone is wide open below SC-42 and appears to point towards a new strong geophysical conductor recently detected in hole SC-31, located 400 metres below SC-42."

The current six-hole drilling program is designed to aid in the completion of an independent NI 43-101 resource determination of the West Lens resource using a drill hole spacing of 50 metres over a strike length of 400 metres. A table showing a summary of significant drill hole intercepts by section can be seen on the Company's website or on the Marketwire website at the following address: http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/SUMMARYTABLEOFASSAYSWESTLENS1.pdf. The intercepts in SC-41 and SC-42 commence at vertical depths of 390 metres and 487 metres respectively. In plan (400 metres below surface) the SC-41 intercept is located 38 metres east of drill hole SC-40 and 58 metres northeast of drill hole SC-34. The SC-42 intercept is located 55 metres west of SC-34 and 64 metres west of SC-40. Holes SC-41 and SC-42 lay approximately 102 metres apart along strike (trend) from each other. These results begin to confirm the latest interpretation that the main massive sulphide zone in the West Lens is cigar-shaped and oriented east-west with a relatively shallow plunge to the west. However, west of drill holes SC-34 and SC-40 it is believed that the plunge of the massive sulphide mineralization increases significantly.

The SC-41 and SC-42 intercepts consist of relatively zinc-rich upper zones of massive sulphides with underlying copper-enriched sections of stringer sulphides, which include better grade intercepts of six metres averaging 1.6 % copper, 0.9 % zinc, 0.1 g/t gold and 49.6 g/t silver in SC-41 and 7.3 metres averaging 4.5 % copper, 4.6 % zinc, 0.6 g/t gold and 137.6 g/t silver in SC-42. Prior holes SC-40 and SC-34 returned total West Lens intercepts of 1.2 % copper, 13.4% zinc, 0.3 g/t gold and 58.6 g/t silver over 27.4 metres and 1.9% copper, 4.9% zinc, 0.4 g/t gold 69.5 g/t silver over 53.7 metres respectively. Each interval in SC-40 and SC-34 consists of a massive sulphide zinc-rich top and a copper-rich massive and stringer sulphide bottom.

The Company is presently continuing its planned drill program with four additional holes to test the extensions around drill holes SC-40 and SC-34. Planned drill holes will be located up to 200 metres east and 100 metres west of SC-34 and SC-40.

In addition to the in-fill drill program, the Company plans to test the following three geophysical targets this fall:

- A newly defined "off-hole" geophysical anomaly detected from hole SC-31. The anomaly is located approximately 400 metres below holes SC-34, 40, 41 and 42 and may represent a significant extension to the same mineralized zone;

- A similar off-hole anomaly detected from drill hole SL-91-106E. The anomaly is located 100 metres west of, and 300 metres below the SC-31 anomaly;

- The Company now has precise coordinates for a West Lens-type MEGATEM anomaly located west of the Gwillim Lake Fault, which may represent a faulted offset portion of the West Lens. The MEGATEM anomaly is located approximately 250 metres northwest of the West Lens.

The Scott Lake property is located 20 km west of Chibougamau, Quebec and is well serviced by forest access roads. It covers 6,414 hectares of contiguous mining claims located in portions of Scott, Levy and Obalski townships.

Work is carried out by the personnel of Cogitore Resources Inc., under the supervision of Gerald Riverin, PhD, P.Geo. He is a qualified person (as defined by National Instrument 43-101) and has more than 31 years of experience in mineral exploration.

Drill core from holes SC-41 and SC-42 were logged and marked up for assay at the Company's secure facility in Chibougamau, Quebec. Drill core for assay was split in half. Half of the core was shipped in sample bags to the ALS Chemex laboratory in Val d'Or, PQ for sample preparation and subsequent analysis of the pulps at their Vancouver facilities with appropriate standards, duplicates and replicates used for quality control purposes. The other half of the core is retained for future reference.

Cogitore explores for VMS-type deposits in areas where mineralization has been found and mined before. Exploring in such areas is preferred because of existing infrastructure, knowledgeable local workforces and broad public support for mining. Collectively, these are major competitive advantages for logistics and economics.
