Cogitore Resources Resumes Drilling on Scott Lake's West Lens, While Initiating First NI43-101 Resource Estimate

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 31, 2009) - COGITORE Resources Inc. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:WOO) is pleased to announce the resumption of drilling today on its 100% owned Scott Lake project near Chibougamau, Quebec. The drilling program will complement the preparation of an initial National Instrument 43-101 compliant resource report on the West Lens by filling in key gaps between existing widely spaced drill hole intercepts. The West Lens is one of six copper/zinc enriched massive sulphide 'lenses' located to date on the Scott Lake property.

The program will consist of 3,500 metres of NQ size drilling in seven holes. The Company's first significant drilling success in the West Lens area occurred during the 2008-2009 drilling program (see press releases dated October 9, 2008, December 1, 2008 and May 19, 2009) when appreciable thicknesses and good copper grades began to be intersected. The three best West Lens drill holes to date were:

- SC-30, which returned 2.04% copper, 0.99% zinc, 0.17 g/t gold and 52.5 g/t silver from semi-massive to massive sulphides over 25.1 metres commencing at 590.2 metres down hole;

- SC-34, which first intersected an upper zinc-rich zone returning 0.10% copper, 23.3% zinc, 0.3 g/t gold and 12.4 g/t silver over 17.9 metres starting at 408.6 metres down hole before intersecting the West Lens proper at 459.7 metres, where a 53.7 metre interval of massive and stringer sulphides averaging 1.88% copper, 4.89% zinc, 0.39 g/t gold and 69.5 g/t silver was intersected;

- SC-40, which intersected 27.4 metres of massive sulphides commencing at 460.9 metres down hole, and graded 1.21% copper, 13.35% zinc, 0.33 g/t gold and 58.6 g/t silver.

All quoted grades are weighted averages.

An independent consulting firm has been engaged to prepare a first ever National Instrument 43-101 compliant resource report at Scott Lake, with a focus on the West Lens area. Data from prior drilling programs and the present drilling, as well as additional density measurements, check assaying and hole-survey data will be incorporated in the calculation process, results of which are expected in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Work is carried out by the personnel of Cogitore Resources Inc., under the supervision of President Gerald Riverin, PhD, P.Geo. He is a qualified person (as defined by National Instrument 43-101) and has more than 30 years of experience in VMS exploration.

The Company has developed a strategic focus on base metal exploration in prospective areas that also feature infrastructure favourable for mining development. Accordingly, it will focus its work in the Abitibi Belt of Quebec and Ontario, and in the Central Belt of Newfoundland.
