Colleges Need to Utilise Modern Technologies in Delivery of Diplomas According to Perspective

LONDON, ENGLAND--(Marketwire - Dec. 22, 2009) - Colleges offering diploma tutelage as part of the government's 14-19 agenda need to make the most of the education potential offered by modern technologies according to Perspective, a leading provider of learning management software for academic institutions.

There are now a large number of ways that technology has pushed the boundaries of education, and Perspective has indicated that many of these can be adopted as teaching techniques that will enhance the learning process.

One such example is that the vast majority of students have a presence on at least one online social network, the most popular ones being networks such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. All of these networks can be used to improve the level of engagement with students on diploma courses.

Online collaboration tools such as wikis can also play a part in the distribution and sharing of learning materials. Whilst many universities already possess their own internal intranet for students, this is a very useful tool that colleges should seek to adapt, as a way of making materials easily accessible and mobile in a virtual environment.

Paul Davis, Director at Perspective, said: "The use of online tools in the learner management process is invaluable. Using software that will allow students to access their records through the medium of the internet will make the management process easier for academic institutions, whilst also giving the students an outlet to view their progress at any time and a way of remaining connected to the learning environment away from college grounds."

Perspective's CLM (Collaborative Learning Manager) has been designed to efficiently link the academic parties involved in distributed learning environments, reducing the strain placed on administration from the training process occurring in various different premises.

Providing real-time student monitoring data that can be accessed at any time, PerspectiveCLM software enables attendance and learner statistics and management reports to be produced quickly and easily at the touch of a button.
