Comaplex Provides an Update on the Meliadine West Exploration Program

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - July 11, 2007) -

NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO UNITED STATES NEWSWIRE SERVICES OR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES

Comaplex Minerals Corp. (TSX:CMF) is pleased to provide a second update on the current 2007 exploration program on the Meliadine West gold property near Rankin Inlet, Nunavut Territory, Canada. The property is owned 78% by Comaplex and 22% by Resource Capital Fund III L.P., with Comaplex having an option to increase to 80%.

2007 Drill Program
------------------

There are three drill rigs currently active on the property. Two of the drill rigs are infill drilling deeper targets (greater than 200 meters) in the Tiriganiaq deposit. The third drill is testing the area of the deposit that will be accessed by the upcoming underground program, as well as targets on the east end of the Tiriganiaq deposit (potential eastern pit).

To date this year, a total of 16,000 meters in 71 holes have been completed on the property. Results from the first ten holes were released in Comaplex press release 07-08 dated May 24, 2007. Assay results have been received for an additional 13 holes. Of these 13 holes, two tested the potential eastern pit area of the Tiriganiaq deposit at shallow depths of less than 200 meters, one hole tested the area of the deposit that will be targeted in the underground program, and the remaining 10 holes tested the deeper 1100/1150 lodes (see attached figure for approximate hole locations - http://files.newswire.ca/437/CMFPR07-09July112007.pdf). An additional 14 drill holes (269 meters) were geotechnical holes completed into the area of the proposed decline, tailings pond, and waste pads.

Detailed drill results on all holes are attached to this release. Highlights include:

14.4 gmt gold over 3.9 meters in hole M07-645
and: 15.2 gmt gold over 6.5 meters
18.6 gmt gold over 7.1 meters in hole M07-646
and: 12.2 gmt gold over 7.2 meters
and: 54.4 gmt gold over 1.2 meters
26.2 gmt gold over 3.5 meters in hole M07-650
and: 19.1 gmt gold over 4.2 meters
and: 75.0 gmt gold over 2.9 meters
13.9 gmt gold over 7.6 meters in hole M07-651
and: 27.1 gmt gold over 4.7 meters
33.6 gmt gold over 3.0 meters in hole M07-652
15.9 gmt gold over 5.3 meters in hole M07-654
and: 58.8 gmt gold over 2.3 meters
24.3 gmt gold over 10.0 meters in hole M07-655
20.2 gmt gold over 3.9 meters in hole M07-656
and: 10.2 gmt gold over 6.0 meters

Drill-holes in the central portion of the Tiriganiaq deposit are returning multiple high grade gold intersections in most drill-holes. The interpretation is that many of the lodes are coalescing and stacking in this part of the deposit. Some wandering of the drill-holes over their 400-500 meter lengths is resulting in occasional twinning of some holes, but drilling will continue in an effort to increase the resource classification in this part of the deposit.

Drill-holes at shallow depths (less than 200 meters) on the eastern end of the deposit are intersecting interesting gold grades in numerous lodes. The area will need to be re-interpreted to determine the pit potential of this part of the deposit.

A total of 18,000 meters of diamond drilling was planned for this exploration season, but with drilling progress well ahead of schedule, additional meterage is likely. Supplies are being mobilized to site for this purpose. Also, surface exploration to locate the source of the G10d garnet diamond indicators will commence in July.

Proposed Underground Exploration Program
----------------------------------------

Comaplex has received approval from the Nunavut Impact Review Board (NIRB) for its proposed underground exploration and bulk sampling program on the Tiriganiaq deposit. We are currently awaiting additional approvals from one other regulatory group prior to initiating the program. Subject to permitting, portal excavation is scheduled to begin in early August 2007 and to be completed in early September.

The underground mining contract was awarded to J.S. Redpath Limited, based in North Bay, Ontario. Redpath is a highly respected underground contractor with extensive northern experience. Mining equipment is tentatively scheduled to be mobilized to the property in early September with underground work on the decline expected to commence approximately mid September, following portal excavation. The underground program is anticipated to take approximately nine months.

During the summer exploration program, the Company will continue to release drill results on a timely basis and will continue to assess its options in advancing this project.

Doug Dumka, P.Geo. is the Chief Geologist for Comaplex Minerals and is the Senior Project Geologist and designated Qualified Person (Q.P.) for the Meliadine West Project. Mr. Dumka supervised drill hole planning, implementation and quality control/quality assurance programs at the Meliadine West project for 2007.

Drill core analysis is performed on cut, half NQ core with standard fire assay procedures and a gravimetric finish (2 assay ton, 1000 gram pulp). QA/QC programs employ the insertion of external standards (low to high grade Au), blanks, and core duplicates every 20 samples. All assaying was completed by TSL Laboratories Ltd. based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. TSL completes its own internal QA/QC by inserting a standard, blank, pulp duplicate, and coarse reject duplicate in every batch of 20 analyses. QA/QC compliance was rigorously checked on a continuous basis during the exploration program.

Meterage provided is measured down hole and intersection widths are interpreted to be approximately 80% of true width.

The TSX has not reviewed and does not accept responsibility for the

adequacy or accuracy of this release.
