Compellent Named to Star Tribune's Top Workplaces 2010

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN--(Marketwire - June 21, 2010) -  Compellent (NYSE: CML) has been named one of the Top Workplaces in the Twin Cities metro area by the Star Tribune. Compellent was ranked among the top 100 workplaces alongside General Mills, Medtronic, Minnesota Twins and Target.

The Top Workplaces award recognizes the most progressive companies in the metro area based on employee opinions about company leadership, career opportunities, workplace flexibility, compensation and benefits. More than 1,000 companies were invited to participate in the survey. The analysis included responses from over 33,000 employees at Minnesota public, private and nonprofit organizations.

"It's an honor to be recognized as one of the Top Workplaces with some of the most well-known brands in the world," said Phil Soran, president and CEO of Compellent. "The Twin Cities area is a hotbed for innovation because of the top-notch talent that's working in the technology industry. We pride ourselves on providing great career opportunities, a dynamic environment and a positive aggressive culture for this top local talent."

Star Tribune Publisher Michael J. Klingensmith said, "I congratulate each of the companies in the Star Tribune Top Workplaces on their outstanding accomplishment. They have succeeded in creating a positive workplace for their employees during very challenging economic times."

As a technology leader in networked enterprise storage, Compellent offers employees a fast-paced work environment and a "positive aggressive" corporate culture based on four principles: ethics, enthusiasm, entrepreneurship and efficiency. This commitment to efficiency also extends to the company's award-winning Fluid Data storage products and environmentally friendly headquarters building. Employees work in one of the first green-certified office buildings in Minnesota, which offers many sustainable features including a lot of natural light, wind-generated energy and front-row parking designated for fuel-efficient cars.

The Star Tribune Top Workplaces special section was published in the Star Tribune on Sunday, June 20. The report can also be found at StarTribune.com/topworkplaces. To qualify for the Star Tribune Top Workplaces, a company must have more than 50 employees in the Twin Cities metro area. Rankings were composite scores calculated purely on the basis of employee responses.
