Concordant Awarded Preferred Vendor Status for Regional Extension Centers

CHELMSFORD, MA--(Marketwire - June 16, 2010) -  Concordant, Inc., a leading provider of healthcare IT services, announced today it has been awarded a Preferred IT Vendor status with New York City Regional Electronic Adoption Center for Health (NYC REACH) to assist with their technical and security implementations, and has been selected as a Preferred Services Partner with Vermont Information Technology Leaders (VITL) to assist with electronic health records (EHR) implementation and meeting meaningful use requirements in the state of Vermont.

NYC REACH and VITL have acquired federal financial assistance allocated by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) signed into law by President Barack Obama in 2009. Under this $20 billion stimulus package, ARRA recognizes that the proper financing and creation of regional health IT extension centers is a critical bridge to the successful, nationwide rollout of EHR. NYC REACH and VITL are reputed to be excellent examples of state-level organizations successfully implementing EHR adoption.

To accelerate the adoption and implementation of EHR in their respective states, NYC REACH and VITL have chosen to partner with Concordant for their high-level field experience in ambulatory EHR implementation. Concordant's professional resume demonstrates supporting both clinical and infrastructure demands of healthcare IT with over 2,500 practices implemented or supported for the past ten years. Concordant's resume, coupled with their vendor-neutral approach and deep experience with leading EMR and practice management solution providers, were the company's key qualifiers during both organizations' selection process.

"We are very excited to be a part of this nationwide roll-out to increase EHR adoption. The NYC REACH and VITL efforts have been underway and are proving to be extremely successful. We're looking forward to being instrumental in assisting both states to reach their respective EHR adoption goals," said Chris Harding, President & Chief Executive Officer, Concordant, Inc.
