Condrey Corporation Announces Kanaka for Mac 2.0 Availability

Version Features New Kanaka Desktop Client and Restructured Pricing

GREENVILLE, SC--(Marketwire - May 4, 2010) -   Condrey Corporation announced today the immediate availability of Kanaka for Mac 2.0, an identity-based product that enables flexible single login integration between Mac OS X and Novell networks. At the same time, the company announced significant restructuring of pricing for product licenses as part of a program aimed at delivering the solution to a wider customer base.

"Kanaka for Mac 2.0 is a significant release for both our company and our customers," remarked Condrey Corporation CEO David Condrey. "Kanaka has always been a great solution for simplifying the complexity of uniting the Mac OS X operating system and Novell eDirectory, but the new release with the desktop client introduces capabilities for expanding the reach and applicability of Macs within the enterprise." He added, "Kanaka's simple installation automatically configures what IT administrators and consultants might spend days doing manually."

The result is a solution that allows Mac users within Novell networks to authenticate to Novell eDirectory with a single password through either the traditional Kanaka Plug-in or a new Kanaka Desktop Client. Kanaka, working through eDirectory, then automatically mounts all of a user's network storage. Mounted storage can include a user's network home directory, as well as all group directories of which a user is a member, no matter where these directories are located on the network -- including those storage resources hosted on Novell Open Enterprise Server (OES) running SUSE Linux.

Pricing
Kanaka for Mac 2.0 is priced according to the number of machines on which the Kanaka Plug-in or Kanaka Desktop Client is installed. With the release of Kanaka for Mac 2.0, Condrey Corporation has restructured the pricing of Kanaka in a way that supports the new applicability of the product to a wider set of desktops within the customer environment. Customers can contact any Condrey Corporation partner or Condrey Corporation directly for more information about pricing for their environment.

System Requirements
Kanaka for Mac 2.0 utilizes Novell eDirectory and is supported on Mac OS X computers with versions 10.4 and higher, including Apple's latest release Snow Leopard (10.6), allowing those desktops to access storage on both NetWare and OES Linux. The Kanaka server component can be hosted on a single Novell NetWare 6.5 or later server, with an OES-Linux port for the server component to be made available this summer.
