Conporec Inc. announces important managerial appointment

SOREL-TRACY, Sept. 13 - President and CEO of Conporec Inc.
(TSX VENTURE:CNP), Mr. Jean Beaudoin, is pleased to announce the
appointment of agronomist Mr. Denis Potvin to the position of Vice-President
of Research and Development. Recognized by his peers in the Quebec and
Canadian composting industry, Mr. Potvin has considerable expertise and
knowledge to improve production processes and the marketing of Conporec Inc.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in agronomy from Laval
University in 1982, Mr. Potvin began his career as a researcher for Les
Composts du Québec Inc. He went on to acquire strong expertise at the Centre
de recherche en horticulture de Tourbière Premier (1986-1990), followed by the
Centre de recherche industrielle du Québec (CRIQ) (1991-1995). In 1996, he
returned to Les Composts du Québec Inc., where he worked as Director of
Technical Services until 2004. Since then he has worked as Project Manager for
GSI Environnement Inc. A member of l'Ordre des agronomes du Québec, Mr. Potvin
has several publications, articles, manuals and numerous presentations to his
credit. His expertise has earned him recognition from the Composting Council
of Canada (CCC) in 2003 for his outstanding contribution. Mr. Potvin was also
instrumental in the foundation of the Association québécoise des industriels
du compostage inc. (AQIC), which he chaired from 1997 to 1999, and he also
participated in the development of the Canadian compost standard.

For 23 years, Mr. Potvin has been working in the area of composting,
compost based substrates and organic residual waste management. His main
responsibilities within Conporec will be to bring continuous process
improvement for compost quality, and oversee the certification and marketing
of compost products. Mr. Potvin will play a pivotal role in helping Conporec
achieve its objectives and business plan.
