Conservatoryland Predicts the Future of DIY Conservatories

MANSFIELD, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Aug. 12, 2009) - One of the UK's leading manufacturers of DIY conservatories is predicting a bright future for their own specialist retail industry sector.

ConservatoryLand, based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire have reported continued growth in the UK conservatory market over the last 10 years with the fastest growing sector being for DIY Conservatories in which they have always specialised.

In the UK, conservatories have become very popular over the last decade as an easy, cheap and effective way of extending homes and are nearly always installed without the need for building regulations approval and often without requiring planning permission.

So the attraction of a conservatory is clear, with all the benefits of a traditional brick built extension but at a fraction of the cost and a fraction of the time.

David Bingham, Director of ConservatoryLand says "DIY conservatories have always formed the smallest percentage of the UK conservatory market and we have always liked to think of ourselves as a leading company in this smaller specialist sector."

David continues "From the year 2000 to around 2006, there was a gradual increase in the DIY conservatory slice of the overall conservatory market in the UK, however from 2006 to date, the growth of the DIY sector seems to be accelerating at a rapid rate. This is probably partly due to increased awareness of our products but mainly down to the increased need for consumers to save money brought on by the recent economic downturn and the state of the housing market."

So what is the future of the UK DIY conservatory market?

Well, according to ConservatoryLand, the future is looking bright and is expected to increase the demand for their products even further, especially with more and more consumers needing to save as much money as they can with the country's current recession.

David Bingham goes on to say "I think there will always be a market for DIY conservatories because there will always be a market for people wanting to save money. Even though it is likely that future prices will be forced up by companies such as Pilkington raising their glass costs, energy and fuel price rises and building regulation legislation requiring higher insulating and more expensive glazing, people will always want conservatories and DIY conservatories will always be the cheaper option."
