Cotendo Dynamic Site Acceleration Helps French National Energy Ombudsman Manage 40 Times Traffic Increase to Consumer-Oriented Websites

Cotendo's Dynamic Site Acceleration Service Gives Visitors to Interactive Comparator Website Fast Access to Detailed Information for Decision-Making on Utility Suppliers, Service Plans and Costs

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - December 16, 2009) - Cotendo, a CDN and Site Acceleration Services Provider, today announced that its advanced technology is playing a key role in speeding the performance of two French government-sponsored consumer-oriented websites. Cotendo's Dynamic Site Acceleration (DSA) service is enabling the websites -- both hosted by the independent administrative authority Le Médiateur National de l'énergie -- to respond quickly to high volumes of requests for information on service options and pricing submitted by French electricity and natural gas utility customers.

"With Cotendo's DSA as part of our web infrastructure, we managed traffic flows and spikes 40 times greater than would otherwise be possible," said Sophie Marin, Communications Officer, Le Médiateur National de l'énergie. "That translates to a superior user experience, especially for the utility customers who visit our interactive comparator website where they can immediately get detailed information on the wide range of service and pricing plans available to them from different utility providers. By facilitating their decision-making, the Cotendo technology strongly supports our mission to promote consumer choice."

To implement the website acceleration technology, Cotendo teamed up with one of its strategic partners, Paris-based Cedexis. "Within just 20 minutes after Cedexis contacted us about the project, we succeeded in loading the customer's entire web traffic onto our platform," said Ronni Zehavi, Cotendo's CEO. "Our Dynamic Site Acceleration and other CDN and site acceleration services are significantly more robust than anything our competitors offer, and it would have taken them weeks to implement an accelerated site, if they could have done it at all."
