Council on Competitiveness Announces New Senior Vice President
WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - January 24, 2008) - Council on Competitiveness president,
Deborah L. Wince-Smith, is pleased to announce that Cynthia R. McIntyre,
Ph.D. has accepted the position of Senior Vice President of the Council.
In her new position, McIntyre will be responsible for strategic operations,

and implementing Council-wide strategic plans and development.
McIntyre comes to the Council from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the
nation's oldest technological research university, where she served as

portfolio to become a successful enterprise for Rensselaer. McIntyre is

"Cynthia's high-level experience in the areas of project development,

"This new position is an exciting testament to the Council's growth.
Cynthia's extensive expertise will continue to expand our impact and
bolster our competitiveness agenda."

She played an integral role in the development of 'The Rensselaer Plan,'
which guided our growth; she helped to establish a major new enterprise at
Rensselaer, which supports technology transfer, new venture creation, and
regional economic development; and she has helped to shape the Institute's
groundbreaking Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC),
scheduled to open in October 2008," President Jackson said. "It is that
same transformational focus that she will bring to the Council, and we look
forward to our continued collaborations."
