Cray Appoints Jill Hopper Vice President of Government Programs

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - January 17, 2008) - Global supercomputer leader Cray Inc. (NASDAQ: CRAY) today announced the appointment of Jill Hopper to the position of vice president responsible for government programs. With more than 20 years of government affairs experience at the federal level, Hopper will be responsible for managing Cray's government relations office in Washington, DC, developing and implementing annual legislative strategy and maintaining strong relationships with Executive and Legislative branch officials.

Most recently, Hopper served as vice president of government relations for SRA International, a leading provider of information technology services. Prior to this appointment, Hopper served as director of government relations for Battelle and as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs for Secretary William S. Cohen. Hopper worked for the U.S. House of Representatives from 1982-1992 where she staffed several appropriations subcommittees, including the subcommittee on defense, during tenures with Congressman Bernard J. Dwyer and Joseph D. Early.
