Crimson Hexagon Fills Out $2M Series A-2 Round; Names Scott Centurino New CEO

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwire - April 5, 2010) - Crimson Hexagon, the leading provider of real time market research, today announced that it has filled a $2M Series A-2 funding round. The round, led by Golden Seeds, was completed through a combination of new and existing investors, including Beacon Angels, New York Angels, CT Angel Investor Forum and Zelkova Ventures. The new capital will be used to accelerate sales, services and marketing, and fund additional product development.

In addition, the company announced that Scott Centurino has joined the company as the new CEO, replacing Candace Fleming who left for both personal and professional reasons. Scott will also join the board of directors in his new role.

Scott Centurino is a senior business and technology leader with a track record of developing teams that "get things done." Scott comes to Crimson Hexagon with a wealth of operating experience, and a deep understanding of both professional services and product development in the software industry. He has a proven ability to quickly understand complex business, technical, and organizational issues, and drive their resolution.

Most recently Scott was the Chief Operating Officer at mobile messaging solutions, Inc. (mms US), where he provided the overall direction for all day-to-day operating activities to optimize customer service and growth. Prior to joining mms, Scott was Vice President of Product at matchmine, a Web 2.0 media discovery and ad-targeting network. Previously, Scott was Vice President of Solutions Infrastructure at Burntsand Inc., a technology-based professional services firm operating from nine locations across the United States and Canada. While at Burntsand, he grew his practice from break-even to 25% margin on 50% revenue growth in two quarters. Earlier in his career, Scott held various technical and engineering roles building and web-enabling enterprise-scale business systems.

Scott holds a S.B. in Computer Science and Engineering, and a Master of Engineering in Computer Science (Systems and Architecture Concentration), both from MIT.
