Crosswalk Delivers Management Support for Major Storage Devices and Operating Systems

Introduction of Crosswalk™ Storage Manager 2.5 Provides Storage Industry With a Simpler Way to Manage Storage Networks

WESTMINISTER, CO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 15, 2005 -- Crosswalk, Inc., the storage management software expert, today announced the launch of Crosswalk Storage Manager 2.5, which offers in-depth support for major, industry leading storage devices and operating systems. With Crosswalk Storage Manager 2.5, customers will now have the ability to view their entire storage network from end to end, for an easy and comprehensive approach to heterogeneous storage network management.

"The most common complaint we hear from mid-market IT managers is that they don't have a clear view into their storage networks," said Mark Stratton, Crosswalk vice president of solutions. "Most storage management solutions exacerbate this problem by showing only one portion of the network at a time, in the same way a flashlight illuminates only a small part of a darkened room. Crosswalk Storage Manager 2.5 acts like turning on the flood lights, enabling network managers to see their entire IT environment at once."

Crosswalk Storage Manager 2.5 provides support for HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array, IBM DS4000 series (formerly FAStT), Engenio and IBM's Enterprise Storage Server® (ESS) series storage arrays and AIX hosts. CSM 2.5 also includes new, more refined search functions, cross-domain discovery, and support for the discovery of work-group hosts. Crosswalk Storage Manager 2.5 also supports extensive monitoring and reporting on Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, Netware, Tru64, Microsoft Windows 2003, Microsoft Windows2000 and Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle databases, Veritas NetBackup Legato Networker and other major backup packages.

First introduced in 2004, the Crosswalk Storage Manager Software Suite is an open, standards-based solution specifically geared to the mid-market. The solution delivers a simple and powerful way to visualize and monitor the entire storage environment with a single tool. Built to make the most of industry-standard protocols like Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), the Storage Management Initiative specification (SMI-S), and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), Crosswalk Storage Manager gives IT administrators a complete view of their storage network.

"Because the Crosswalk Storage Manager 2.5 meets a wide variety of industry-standard specifications, we are able to provide VAR partners, customers, and strategic partners with a high level of assurance that CSM will consistently manage storage devices without having to worry about interoperability issues," explained Stratton. "Crosswalk's commitment to standards support allows customers to rapidly add devices and operating systems with the assurance that they are fully supported and will have direct access to more data on their infrastructure than ever before."

"MSI Systems Integrators is excited with the high levels of functionality that the Crosswalk Software Manager 2.5 offers our customers," said Tony Regier, vice president of the storage solutions practice at MSI Systems Integrators. "The solution allows us to support customers using the IBM AIX operating system and IBM ESS (Shark) storage arrays with an end-to-end view into their entire storage environment. By tapping into Crosswalk's proven storage management software solution, we're uniquely positioned with a best of breed IT monitoring tool for the mid-market."

The Crosswalk Storage Manager Software Suite supports Direct Attached Storage (DAS), Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) topologies. The solution provides end-to-end visibility of an IT environment through monitoring, reporting and event notification on hosts, applications, storage and network connections. Crosswalk Storage Manager 2.5 is generally available now through authorized value-added resellers and systems integrators. The product pricing starts at $5,000 and is priced according to the customer's environment and total solution needs.
