Crushpad Commerce Brands Score Big at 2008 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition

Take Top Medal Count in Pinot Noir Category

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - January 18, 2008) - Crushpad, the urban winery that is democratizing wine making, today announced that its commerce partner brands topped the Pinot Noir field at the 2008 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, capturing seven awards in the category -- the most of any winery. Crushpad clients also took home Double Gold awards for Cabernet Sauvignon and for Syrah as part of the winery's total medal count of 17.

The renowned wine competition attracted a world record 4,235 entries competing in 49 different varietal categories and was judged by an elite panel of more than 60 professional wine judges representing trade, education, media, retail, and restaurants throughout the U.S.

"Pinot Noir is a notoriously fickle varietal that can give vine growers and winemakers fits," said Crushpad Chief Winemaker, Michael Zitzlaff. "So it's especially gratifying to have so many of our clients' wines recognized in this category. It's also very satisfying to see our clients win Double Gold and Gold in a competition of this caliber."
