Crystal Run Healthcare Terminates Contract With Aetna, Inc.

MIDDLETOWN, NY--(Marketwire - June 21, 2010) -  Crystal Run Healthcare has announced that effective July 31, 2011, it is terminating its physician group agreement with Aetna, Inc.

The multi-specialty group medical practice with 11 offices throughout Orange and Sullivan Counties has been unable to arrive at a mutually acceptable physician group agreement with Aetna. Affected Crystal Run Healthcare patients are being notified of the termination of the agreement via a personal letter from Managing Partner and CEO, Hal Teitelbaum. This early notification of patients is essential to provide affected patients with ample opportunity to consider the impact of this termination on their decisions in reference to health insurance coverage during the upcoming year and thereafter. Crystal Run Healthcare will also notify the New York State Department of Health and the New York State Insurance Department of the termination of the physician group agreement.

"Aetna proposes to pay us significantly less than other commercial health care plans with whom we contract. Despite good faith efforts, we cannot come to an agreement at this time. We want to afford every opportunity to our patients to make informed choices regarding their health care coverage," said Dr. Teitelbaum.

Crystal Run Healthcare values the relationship of confidence and trust it has with its patients. The practice is encouraging those with questions or concerns to contact Tara Winchell, Crystal Run Healthcare's Director of Customer Service, at (845) 703-6107.
