Currie Rose Resources Inc.: Update on Barrick Results in Tanzania

ST. CATHARINES, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 25, 2007) - Currie Rose Resources (TSX VENTURE:CUI) has been informed by its Joint Venture Partner, Barrick Exploration Africa Ltd. (BEAL) of the following results on the Jubilee Reef project in Tanzania.

HIGHLIGHTS

- Results of the airborne VTEM survey were processed during the quarter and several targets were identified for surface sampling and drill testing.

- The 2006 RC program commenced in mid-December at the Tembo target. The drill program was delayed due to heavy and consistent seasonal rains throughout November and December.

- At the end of the quarter, four RC holes totalling 842m were completed during the quarter. All drill assays were pending at quarter-end.

- Channel rock chip samples returned significant gold results of 15m @ 2.65g/t Au from silicified, quartz-veined and brecciated BIF-chert outcrop at the Tembo target.

2006 FOURTH QUARTER PROGRAMS

Channel Rock chip Results - Tembo Target

Channel rock chip samples at the Tembo target returned significant gold results of 15m @ 2.76g/t Au from BIF-chert outcrops (Table 1). The BIF-chert outcrops that returned significant gold assays are silicified and brecciated with minor quartz veining. The anomalous channel was extended during the quarter, however, results were still pending at the end of December.

A total of 10 geophysical and geochemical targets were mapped at 1:10,000 scale for a total of 56 square km. In combination with the mapping surface rock chip and channel sampling was completed with a total of 797 samples collected during the quarter. Anomalous gold (greater than 0.1g/t Au to a max of 20.2g/t Au) associated with As, Cu, Zn, Pb +/- Sb was returned from several prospects investigated. The better individual rock chip results were returned from Tembo target which returned assays to 8.48g/t Au, and the Jubilee Reef historical workings which returned better assays of 10.2g/t Au and 20.2g/t Au from a narrow, sub-vertical quartz vein.

2006 Q4 RC Drilling Program

A reverse circulation drilling program, consisting of 17 RC holes across seven targets, commenced in mid-December at the Jubilee Reef project. A total of four holes, JRRC001-004, were completed during the quarter for a total advance of 842m. All RC drilling to date has been completed at the Tembo target in the northwest of the project. The progress of the RC program has been slowed due to heavy and persistent seasonal rains making access and drill pad construction in the steep terrain difficult. All drill assays were pending at quarter-end.

The RC program has been designed to test VTEM and historical geochemical targets throughout the Jubilee Reef project. It is anticipated the initial target delineation program will be completed by the middle of the first quarter 2007, if the rains abate and the access to drill targets improves.

The geology encountered in the drilling at the Tembo target to date has included BIF-chert and greywacke units. The BIF-chert is fractured, hematitic, limonitic, locally silicified and veined with some boxwork after sulphides in the oxidized part. In fresh rocks silicification and quartz veining characterize the altered zones. The main sulphide observed is pyrite (1-10%py) occurring as fine disseminations, replacement, and discrete pyrite stringers/fracture filling within the altered zones.

EXPENDITURE

Total expenditure for Q4 2006 was US$233,456 bringing the total BEAL expenditure on the project since inception to US$405,979. Total expenditure on the project inclusive of the 15% management fee is US$466,875.85.

Q1 2007 EXPLORATION PROGRAMS

- Complete the target delineation RC drilling program across the remaining targets VTEM and geochemical targets.

Data processing and evaluation to identify potential targets for follow up drill programs.
