DC Brands International Announces: A Major Cold Front Heats Up Sales

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - January 19, 2010) - Today the company DC Brands International, a publicly traded company under the ticker symbol (PINKSHEETS: DCBR), is extremely proud to announce that it has reached a significant agreement with Cold Front Distribution, L.L.C.

Cold Front is a prominent distributor with its main offices located in central Denver and additional regional distribution locations in Pueblo, Colorado, El Paso, Texas, and a large facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Cold Front is a full Direct Sales Delivery (DSD) company with multiple warehouses and cross dock locations in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Farmington, New Mexico; Abilene, Texas; Lubbock, Texas; San Angelo, Texas; Amarillo, Texas; Odessa, Texas; Rapid City, South Dakota; and Taos, New Mexico.

Cold Front Distributing maintains a diverse portfolio of quality brands including Fortune 500 companies and numerous prominent regional brands. Primary product lines include brands such as Kraft, Minute Maid, Dryer's, Haagen-Daz, Nestle, Good Humor-Breyer's, Ben and Jerry's, Unilever products, M&M Mars, Home Run Inn Pizza, Kraft Pizza, and many more. Cold Front services more than 6,800 accounts encompassing retail grocery, gas & C- Store, independent retailers, dollar stores, schools & universities, restaurants and parlors, hotels, major business and industry, prisons, military bases, mass merchandisers and home improvement centers, as well as event centers and specialty event activities.

Notable accounts within the Cold Front portfolio include King Soopers/City Market, Kroger, Albertsons, Safeway, Sunflower Farmers Markets, Target Stores, Save-a-Lot Food Stores, Nash Finch, Lowe's, United Foods, Pro Ranch Market, Super Saver Store, Wal-Mart, 7-Eleven, Valero/Diamond Shamrock, Loaf n' Jug, Circle K/Shell, Circle K/Conoco, Conoco Phillips, 1st Stop, Family Dollar, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, Common Cents, Walgreens, and the US Army.

Dave Roberts, The President of Cold Front, said, "A large part of my time is spent interviewing potential new lines and most of them never make it past the first meeting. The noise and success that H.A.R.D. Nutrition has had right here in Colorado has caught our attention. To be outselling established industry leaders by more than 2 to 1, at more than 3x the price is astonishing. I have never seen anything like it. We really feel like this line can be the next big thing, and that our expertise in the industry can take it to the next level. I requested a meeting with the CEO of H.A.R.D. Nutrition, Richard Pearce, and all I can tell you is that anyone who spends an hour with that guy and his team, and then not walk away a true believer just wasn't listening. Their passion and vision is infectious, and they have such a well planned strategy for the future that we just had to be a part of it.

"In addition to our direct involvement in distribution, we intend to make introductions to all of our counter parts across the country as fast as the company wants to grow. Our network is literally Miami to Seattle, San Diego to Boston, and everywhere in between. We have done our homework and truly believe these guys have something amazing. The only missing piece in any puzzle with a great product line like H.A.R.D Nutrition is how you to get it to market. All of us in our network pride ourselves in being some of the last hold outs in the distribution business that actually takes ownership in a brand's success. It seems that the vast majority of distributors do little more than deliver the product to the back door of the store's warehouse. Not us, we take full responsibility for the stocking, merchandising and ensuring special promotions come off without a hitch. This has made us unique, and we believe gives us an advantage over our competition.

"We are excited about what we believe we can do with this brand, because it is truly groundbreaking. For a brand to launch with a single customer (King Soopers) in only 80 stores, and progress from the very bottom shelf under gourmet soda, and generate $160,000 in sales in just seven weeks of the third quarter, and then more than triple that number in the next quarter is astonishing. Again, the fact that this was accomplished with just one major customer is unheard of.

"It is our goal to see those numbers continue to rapidly increase throughout the direct area, and then across the nation through our network. We have already taken possession of our initial orders approaching $200,000 which we hope reflects our optimism of the potential for this brand. We believe in the people at H.A.R.D. Nutrition and their products, and sincerely think we can, and will play a major role in helping them dominate this new and exciting space in the functional beverage industry."

The company's President & CEO Richard Pearce, added, "Having Cold Front join forces with us solves perhaps one of the biggest problems faced in this business; finding a really good, reliable, motivated distributor with an extensive distribution network. Our previous distributor provided us with an invaluable launch into the grocery channel, and Cold Front allows us to continue in that grocery channel but with potentially more accounts. At the same time, Cold Front allows us to expand our visibility throughout the additional distribution channels that it so successfully services, such as gas convenience, truck stops, C-Stores, health and fitness nutritional centers, schools, etc.

"Additionally, the personalities and cultures of our companies are so similar that the synergies are obvious. President Dave Roberts is a hands-on, driven entrepreneur. A president of a distribution company that still spends significant time in the market, taking ownership and responsibility for the success of a brand is indeed rare in today's business world. That attitude combined with the fact that Dave is the absolute consummate professional ripples throughout his entire organization, and we could not be more pleased to have such a wonderful partner on board."
