DC Ranch Village Health Club & Spa to Host Special Olympics Arizona Triathlon

Competitive Event Debuts in Arizona in August

SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwire - August 6, 2008) - DC Ranch Village Health Club & Spa will host the first ever Traditional Sprint Triathlon and Unified Triathlon to support Special Olympics Arizona on August 16, 2008, sponsored by GE Capital Solutions, Franchise Finance and emceed by six-time Olympic Gold medalist Amy Van Dyken.

The event will consist of two courses: The Unified Triathlon will be a modified course in which teams consisting of 1 Special Olympics Arizona (SOAZ) athlete and 2 partners or 2 SOAZ athletes and 1 partner complete the course. The modified course consists of a 50 yard swim, 2.5 mile bike ride and 1/2 mile run. The Sprint Triathlon enables individuals or teams to complete the event, and will consist of a 300 yard swim, 20K bike ride, and 5K run. With the option of two different courses to choose from, there is no excuse as to why anyone should not support this cause. Each participant is required to have a minimum of $75 in pledges to compete.

To incentivize people to participate and support Special Olympics Arizona, the first 100 people who sign up for the Sprint Triathlon will be invited to attend swim clinics at DC Ranch Village Health Club & Spa with Amy Van Dyken. The first 100 people to sign up for the Unified Triathlon will be entered in a drawing to win a 24" Trek Mountain Bike. In addition, participants who register for either the race will be entered into a drawing to win more great prizes.

"It is with great pleasure and pride that Village Health Clubs can help Special Olympics Arizona in their efforts to promote healthy lifestyles and fun-spirited competition," says Carol Nalevanko, President of DMB Sports Clubs. "As a locally owned company we are dedicated to helping our community partners reach their own community-focused goals."
