DSL port shipments up 9% in 2Q07, IP DSLAM ports up 7%

CAMPBELL, CA--(Marketwire - October 11, 2007) - According to Infonetics Research's latest "Broadband Aggregation Hardware and Subscribers" report, worldwide DSL port shipments are up 9% in 2Q07 from the previous quarter, and overall broadband aggregation hardware revenue is up 6% to $1.6 billion.

Strong growth in worldwide DSL subscribers continues, indicating fundamental demand for broadband connectivity is on the rise.

"By next year, IP DSLAMs and multiservice access platforms (MSAPs) will be the primary platforms for FTTC/FTTN and CO deployments, so healthy growth is expected in both of these segments at least through 2010," said Jeff Heynen, directing analyst at Infonetics Research.
