OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 5, 2007) - Popular Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell makes an appearance in Ottawa at Scotiabank Place on Monday, May 26, 2008 at 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale on Nov. 9, 2007 & can be purchased by calling 613-599-0100 or via the web: The entertainer has enjoyed worldwide success in recent years with his unique blend of country music, 60's pop, inspirational ballads & Irish standards. Featured on seven nationally televised PBS specials in the U.S. (including 2007's Daniel O'Donnell Can You Feel The Love), O'Donnell's live show is especially popular. It's not uncommon for O'Donnell's concerts to sell out within minutes of going onsale, and the shows are oft-requested destinations for group bus tours.

"The fans are an integral part of the experience of my live show, and I think they keep coming back primarily due to their love for the music I bring them," O'Donnell says. "I make the show fun by having conversations and talking to them on-stage, even joking around like old friends. I stay after every performance to meet everyone I can, and people know I'm very approachable. Those who have seen me perform multiple times know that variety and spontaneity is a key part of the show, too. My goal every time I step onstage is to make sure the audience leaves entertained," O'Donnell says. "I want to make people feel relaxed and at home with me, and for a few hours anyway, create an atmosphere that helps them leave their worries behind."

The Spring 2008 tour hits seventeen North American cities (Lethbridge, Portland (OR), Vancouver, Seattle, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Pasadena, Fresno, Chicago, Moline, Ottawa, Toronto, Halifax, St. John's, Portland (ME), Wilkes Barre and Cleveland), and will feature Daniel's longtime musical companion, the Irish vocalist Mary Duff, as well as The Daniel O'Donnell Band. O'Donnell, Duff & band return to North America in November 2008 for additional appearances at Branson's Tri-Lakes Theatre. His new full-color hardcover book Daniel O'Donnell's Ireland: Songs and Scenes from My Homeland (Virgin Books) will be published in the U.S. and Canada on February 19, 2008; his Public Television special, Daniel O'Donnell At Home In Ireland, begins airing in March 2008. O'Donnell's North American Presenter is Attila Glatz Concert Productions in Toronto. His North American record company is DPTV Media.

"In a pop culture world dominated by jarring rap and oversexed bubbleheads... when even country music has been flat-ironed into a soulless marketing tool used to sell trucks and beer, O'Donnell's comfortable mix of easy, brogue-laced banter and nostalgic standards is a refuge." Gemma Tarlach - Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
