Dell to Resell Virtual Instruments' SAN and Virtual Infrastructure Optimization Solutions

Agreement Makes Award-Winning NetWisdom and VirtualWisdom Available Across Dell's Customer Base

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA--(Marketwire - January 14, 2010) - Virtual Instruments, a leader in storage area network (SAN) and virtual infrastructure optimization solutions, today announced it has signed a reseller agreement with Dell Inc. The agreement provides Dell with the opportunity to sell Virtual Instruments' solutions as a part of their portfolio of products and services. Under the terms of the agreement, Dell's direct and channel sales forces are authorized to resell Virtual Instruments' NetWisdom, the industry's leading SAN monitoring solution, and VirtualWisdom, the industry's first real-time virtual infrastructure optimization solution.

"Although the recession may be over in definition, as we move into 2010 it is likely that budgets will remain tight and IT departments will continue to be charged with doing more with fewer resources," commented Dave Bartoletti, Taneja Group. "In an environment where digital data storage continues to grow at 30-50 percent annually, IT success will be measured by the ability to squeeze maximum performance, availability, and utilization out of existing storage resources. A proactive approach involving instrumentation, measurement, and analysis delivers greater system availability with significant capital and operational expenditure savings."

"Our agreement with Dell further expands our customer reach, allowing more companies around the globe to benefit from a lower cost, higher performance physical and virtual infrastructure," said Mark Urdahl, CEO of Virtual Instruments. "Global 2000 organizations choose Dell, in large part, due to Dell's ability to provide one of the industry's most cost-effective IT platforms. Dell customers who choose either NetWisdom or VirtualWisdom will experience a seamless integration process, improving the deployment of business critical applications and overall infrastructure performance, which will directly improve their customers' bottom line."

Dell will provide a single point of purchase for both Dell and Virtual Instruments products, simplifying the acquisition process for our joint customers.
