Delta Funding Launches "Biz Kidz" Tour

WOODBURY, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 16, 2006 -- Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a fireman, police officer or Park Service Ranger? Wondered how a retail store operates or what it's like to be president of a major corporation? Delta Funding Corporation's (AMEX: DFC) "Biz Kidz" has the answer for local Cincinnati students and young people across the nation who are thinking about their future careers. Cincinnati-based National Public Education Foundation's BorrowSmart has partnered with Delta to bring this year-long initiative to communities across the United States.

John E. Pepper, Jr., the Chief Executive Officer of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center (NURFC) and a former chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Proctor & Gamble, joined Cincinnati City Council member Laketa Cole and representatives of national mortgage banker Delta Funding Corporation and subsidiary Fidelity Mortgage to kick off Delta's "National Biz Kidz Tour" at a press conference on October 12 in front of the NURFC in Cincinnati, Ohio. "Biz Kidz" is an essential element of Delta's national effort to introduce students to the inner workings of the real business world while exposing them to various types of occupations.

Twenty-five students from Harmony Community High School, Pace High School and Beech Acres Parenting Center, grades nine through 12, took part in the program's launch. The students began the day at the NURFC followed by a bus tour to various area businesses that provided a glimpse into each organization's workings.

The students returned to the NUFRC for a closing session that included a raffle drawing for a new computer. Additionally, the students entered their names into a drawing for a $10,000 scholarship to be awarded by Delta/Fidelity at the conclusion of the "Biz Kidz" tour in 2007.
