Denso Corporation to License WindSpring's DMTools™ Mobile Data Optimization Software

Global Automotive Technology Giant to Integrate WindSpring Technology Into Next-Generation Navigation Platform

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - April 26, 2010) -  WindSpring, Inc., a leader in mobile data optimization technologies, today announced a three-year agreement to license DMTools™ -- the company's advanced data optimization and compression toolkit -- to Denso Corporation. Denso, a leading global supplier of advanced technology, systems and components whose customers include all of the world's major carmakers, will use DMTools in its next generation of navigation systems.

WindSpring's DMTools is the first application development suite that seamlessly optimizes application data on mobile devices, and enables sophisticated data analysis, advanced compression, and extensive utilities for tuning data for applications. DMTools combines patented advanced compression with libraries which provide consistent APIs for read, edit, search and data access, along with utilities which ensure efficient data management and high performance for mobile applications.

"Denso's decision to pursue this integration is further validation of our assertion that WindSpring products are exactly what developers need in order to meet the growing demand for richer, more powerful mobile applications," said Tom Hunt, WindSpring president and CEO. "In addition to ensuring efficient data optimization and high performance for mobile applications, this integration will enable functions including real-time data update and edit on any mobile device."

"The success of connected vehicle solutions including Telematics, infotainment and navigation offerings will depend on the ability to provide dynamic, digital content updates," says Thilo Koslowski, Vice President and Automotive Practice Leader at Gartner. "Automotive companies must consider technology options that will enable such data updates in an efficient and timely manner in the development of their in-vehicle connectivity offerings."
