Design News Editors Select Knovel Math as Best Product Finalist for 2010 Golden Mousetrap Awards

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - April 12, 2010) -  Knovel, a web-based application integrating technical information with analytical and search tools, today announced Knovel Math was selected by Design News as a Best Product Finalist for the 2010 Golden Mousetrap Awards.

Introduced in 2009, Knovel Math is a web-enabled collection of thousands of fully documented Mathcad® worksheets for engineering calculations, eliminating inefficiencies from re-creation and reducing the time it takes to solve and document complex math problems. With Knovel Math, Mathcad users can simply find the worksheet they need using Knovel's powerful search or browse functionality, then download and customize it with specific input values for problem solving.

"Knovel is 100 percent focused on engineers, so we continually introduce new features and products that increase productivity and help engineers get the technical answers they need fast," said Sasha Gurke, senior vice president and co-founder of Knovel. "Knovel Math users can expect new features in 2010. We are pleased to receive accolades for the introduction of Knovel Math from the editors of Design News. We congratulate this year's winners and applaud the innovative products they have introduced to the engineering community."

For more than two decades, the Design News Awards Program has recognized engineering innovation and creativity in product design. This year, Golden Mousetrap awards were given in four major categories: Electronics, Motion Control/Automation, Hardware/Software, Materials/Fastening/Joining/Assembly, and 20 subcategories. Design News editors gathered a record number of entries and, based on their expertise in each technology area, painstakingly selected the winners and finalists.

"Design News congratulates the winners and finalists of the 2010 Golden Mousetrap Awards for the great work they've done to develop new and innovative products for design engineers," said Jennifer Roy, managing editor of Design News. "These products, as always, showcase the highly imaginative ways that today's engineers are 'building a better mousetrap,' and we thank them for their contributions."
