Digital Learning Management Announces Availability of Version 3.0.7 of Its Virtual University System (VUS)

New Features Include Cross Compatibility With Multiple Providers of e-Learning Content, a New User Interface and Custom Workflow Views

TORRANCE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 16, 2005 -- Digital Learning Management Corporation (OTC BB: DGTL), a provider of enterprise hardware and software applications to the education industry, announced today that its version 3.7.0 of the VUS online system is now available for Beta Release.

The new version features several improvements and enhancements. The primary enhancement is the ability to import and use courses from multiple providers of e-Learning content, including Blackboard (NASDAQ: BBBB), Pearson, Wyle, Thompson and others. This is provided through a new, enhanced, pluggable interface which allows 3rd-party vendors and value added resellers (VARs) to develop plug-ins that enable the VUS to present and manage courseware in almost any format. It also allows content from other e-Learning platforms to utilize the benefits of the unique and powerful feature set of the VUS.

The VUS architecture now includes ‘Feature Blocks,’ which can be plugged together in various ways to comprise a ‘View.’ Each Feature Block can be tailored to provide as little or as much of that function as is required. For example, the ‘Students’ feature block can simply be set up to query and view student records, or it can enable enrollment, payment of tuition, printing of grades and transcripts, etc.

Zeb Bhatti, CEO of DLMC, stated, “Feature Blocks are very attractive to Value Added Resellers (VARs) and other Software Solution Providers (SSP’s), as they can regard the VUS as a collection of functionality that can be tailored precisely for clients. By simply including the Feature Blocks in one configuration file, a VAR can completely customize the VUS without any programming.”

Version 3.0.7 also allows users to create new ‘Views’ that can be added or modified to customize workflow and user interface screens. For example, a user could create a view called ‘Sponsor’ and give it the ability to only browse courses and review tuition invoices for a specific group of students. This feature is designed primarily to help personalize the VUS within various learning ecosystems.

Version 3.0.7 also includes a new and improved User Interface (UI) that can be totally customized by VARs. The architecture supports functionalities that users may want to include in a View, and also controls access to the added functionalities that the user chooses to provide.

About the VUS

The VUS is an aggressive competitor to existing products that rely on expensive, older technologies and limited proprietary course offerings. Digital believes that the VUS, developed as a state-of-the-art JAVA application, is the only solution available that allows education providers to utilize content from multiple vendors on one system, at a cost far below competing products.

The VU Appliance is a complete state-of-the-art hardware and software solution incorporating the company’s CourseMate™ Virtual University system. The system, or ‘appliance’ as it is referred to, allows traditional brick and mortar educational institutions and commercial organizations to create a virtual e-learning presence from scratch. The appliance, which is a standard 1U rack mounted device, is pre-configured with a Course Builder, a Courseware Repository, a LMS and Registration System, an Online Exams Server, an Online Evaluations Server and a Collaboration Server for Online Discussion Forums & Chat Sessions.
