Digital Reef Announces HP TRIM Integration and Reseller Partnership With Comport Consulting

Latest Release of Virtual Governance Warehouse Extends HP TRIM Records Management

BOXBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwire - June 16, 2010) -  Digital Reef (www.digitalreefinc.com), a leading software provider of the first massively scalable and open software for eDiscovery and digital information governance, today announced a reseller agreement with Comport Consulting Corp., a leader in information management solutions and infrastructure for healthcare providers and commercial enterprises. The new multi-year agreement with Comport, an HP Software Platinum Business Partner, will allow Comport to incorporate the Digital Reef Virtual Governance Warehouse into its solutions for records content management and storage optimization. Digital Reef's platform was selected to provide enterprise-scale file and content discovery, analytics, and governance for users of Microsoft SharePoint and other enterprise content management products. The latest release of the Virtual Governance Warehouse provides integration with HP Software's records management system, HP TRIM. The integration between Digital Reef and HP's TRIM products is significant in that it provides a totally integrated solution for content from creation all the way to disposition.

Comport Consulting's Solutions Based Content Management is a set of tools and services designed to help organizations gain insight and control of all of their unstructured data and in effect mitigate risk, avoid IT Sprawl and Content Drift as well as cut cost out of electronic discovery processes and drive real hard dollar savings through true, effective storage optimization. This is accomplished, in part, by the unique integration of HP's TRIM Content and Records Management platform with Digital Reef's Virtual Governance Warehouse. This integration, combined with Comport's consulting services, enables customers to identify where all unstructured content lives, determine the value of that content within business and regulation contexts and make an intelligent, informed decision as to the disposition of that content.

"We are very excited about this new relationship because the Digital Reef capabilities are an absolutely critical part of the foundation of our Solutions Based Content Management platform. Digital Reef provides us the capacity to discover, categorize, index and move all types of content within our customers' enterprise and ultimately provide them with a level of intelligence on their unstructured data that simply did not exist before," said Jack Margossian, President, Comport Consulting.

The time and cost savings is significant for customers as the Virtual Governance Warehouse can discover and manage enterprise wide, unified views of information, effectively turning unmanaged information into records management ready content immediately. The solution provides a common, unified information source available to create, view, update, modify and delete TRIM records using content discovered and classified across enterprise management systems. Customers can then automate TRIM records policy enforcement using the warehouse to execute TRIM policies.

According to a June 2010 research report1 by Debra Logan, Research VP at Gartner, Inc., "Information governance is a key initiative." Furthermore, the report states that "records management is part of information governance, which Gartner defines as 'the specification of decision rights and an accountability framework to encourage desirable behavior in the valuation, creation, storage, use, archival and deletion of information.'"

"By integrating with HP TRIM records management system, Digital Reef's virtual governance warehouse became a must have solution for Comport to offer its enterprise customers and prospects," said David Butler, Vice President of Marketing, Digital Reef, Inc.

The Digital Reef TRIM connector is available immediately as part of Digital Reef's Virtual Governance Warehouse 3.1.
