Dinerware Acquires DishCloud

Dinerware Offers Restaurateurs New Revenue Opportunities With Online Ordering

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - January 11, 2010) - Dinerware, Inc., a leading developer of restaurant POS (point of sale) software, today announced the acquisition of privately held DishCloud, a Web-based ordering service. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

DishCloud, based in Seattle, is a strategic addition to the Dinerware point-of-sale software platform. It will extend Dinerware's Web-based capabilities and offer an additional revenue stream for Dinerware customers via the DishCloud online ordering service. The service integrates directly into the Dinerware point-of-sale system for seamless transactions and order processing from the web to the restaurant. Customers can order and pay for items from the restaurant's website in one simple transaction.

"The addition of DishCloud supports Dinerware's vision of a robust, intuitive point-of-sale platform," said Jeff Riley, Dinerware CEO. "DishCloud's software, developer talent and customer satisfaction ratings complement Dinerware's business and extend our ability to deliver compelling value to restaurateurs."

A monthly flat fee, a rich user experience, and a new revenue stream are competitive differentiators that resonate well with restaurateurs. Paul Friedman, owner of Houston-based Peli Peli said, "Within 30 minutes of launching DishCloud, a customer placed an order that was transmitted instantly via Dinerware directly to the kitchen. Our online presence has been adopted almost immediately, and many customers have commented on how easy it is to order what they want."

DishCloud Online Ordering services are available for all types of hospitality verticals including multi-unit operations, quick serve and fast casual, hotels, food courts and delivery or take-out operations. Dinerware customers now have the ability to activate an additional revenue stream without the necessity of additional overhead, a critical component for businesses that want to expand their visibility and offerings in a down economy.

Dinerware, Inc. is a leading developer of restaurant POS (point of sale) software and has continued to expand its best-in-class POS platform via third party certified products that include inventory, food costing, payroll, labor scheduling, enterprise reporting, data automation, and online ordering. "Dinerware has three core principles: to be easy to use, reliable and provide low total cost of ownership. Dinerware enables third-party product integrations so restaurateurs can select specific functionalities appropriate to their business models and plans for growth," said Rob Freytag, Dinerware Channel and Sales Director. "The acquisition of DishCloud is a huge benefit to customers looking for ways to exploit their point-of-sale investment."
