Discover the Cottage RV's!

The affordable alternative to summer cottages, ski chalets, and retirement getaways in the South!

Attention: Automotive Editor, Lifestyle Editor, News Editor, Travel/Tourism Editor, Transportation Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO, MEDIA ADVISORY--(Marketwire - Nov. 5, 2007) - The best kept secret in the leisure travel industry this year has been the Cottage RV (and it's really not a secret - they've always been there!).
These luxurious cottage alternatives are also the reason that the Cottage RV Show (held in conjunction with the Spring and Fall Motor Home & Trailer Shows at the giant International Centre, Mississauga, Ontario) has attracted so much media attention. The cost of a traditional cottage, ski chalet, or winter home has become so ridiculously out of reach for the average family or retirement couple that this affordable alternative is something people have been accepting with open arms. They didn't even know it was already available to them all these years!

But exactly what is a Cottage RV? How does it differ from other RV's (recreation vehicles) like trailers and motor homes?

The answer is complex - and simple. A Cottage RV can actually be any recreation vehicle - it is really just another member of the family of RV's that includes folding trailers and campers, fifth-wheels, slide-ins, and self-propelled motor homes. All of these could be an affordable alternative to a cottage.

The Cottage RV, however, most often refers to a park model trailer that is usually set up in an RV resort. It's not as portable as a towable trailer, but it can still be moved whenever necessary - to change the view or to get away from annoying neighbours. Many RV resorts are located on lakes and offer a marina, a golf course, tennis courts, or horseback riding. Cottage comforts? The owner decides exactly what he/she needs because everything their house or condo has, their Cottage RV can have - year-round. It can be a summer cottage in the Muskokas, a ski chalet in the Halliburtons, or a winter getaway in Florida or Arizona. Other Cottage RV options include a travel trailer or a fifth-wheel - there are also many of those at every Cottage RV Show. Whoever said "you can't take it with you" never looked into the benefits of a Cottage RV! They truly embody the new mobile luxury lifestyle - but one that is as affordable for young families as it is for retirement couples.

Dates for the next Cottage RV Show (held in conjunction with the 2007 Fall Motor Home & Trailer Show) are: Friday, November 16 (10am-7pm); Saturday, November 17 (10am-7pm); and Sunday, November 18 (10am 6pm).

The Motor Home & Trailer Shows (including, since Fall 2006, the Cottage RV Show) have been held continuously for over 35 years at the giant International Centre on Airport Rd, at Derry Rd. in Mississauga, Ontario. The giant International Centre is where the BIG RV shows are held. Parking at the venue is always free and there are now over 6,000 spots available. All of the show details, including admission costs, public transportation info, product/exhibitor listings, and general RV information can be found at the show website: www.cottagervshow.com
