Dream Big, Canada! Cast your vote for what sport you think should be the next Olympic Games sport!

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 5, 2007) - Tell us which sport you'd like to see at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Now all Canadians can have a say when they cast their votes online at during the Petro-Canada Dream Big contest. That's because the finalist who gets the most votes wins a chance to present their sport to the Canadian Olympic Committee, plus a trip for two to attend the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

But this is no ordinary contest, and these aren't ordinary sports. Dream Big is giving every sport and pastime a chance to go for gold-no matter how unconventional! And while the Dream Big winning sport may never make it to the Olympic or Paralympic Games, it will have had its moment on the podium.

"We wanted to engage and inspire outstanding Canadian creativity, that's why we made the Dream Big contest open to any sport or pastime-from Ultimate to Water Skiing and Bocce Ball to Flatland Biking," explains Steven Keith, Director, Olympic and Community Partnerships, Petro-Canada.

Anyone in Canada can cast their vote between now and November 16th by visiting to vote on the four finalists who were selected from 80 live auditions in Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto.

Petro-Canada-a history of supporting the Olympic Movement in Canada.

Petro-Canada's commitment to sport fuels the dreams of athletes across Canada. The Company's funding legacy began in 1988 and since that time, Petro-Canada has awarded $6 million in scholarships to more than 2,000 non-carded athletes and coaches - one of the largest sources of such funding in Canada.

Today, Petro-Canada is a National Partner for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, as well as the Canadian Olympic Committee. As part of that sponsorship, the Company has developed the Petro-Canada Fuelling Athlete and Coaching Excellence(1) (FACE(1)) program.

The FACE(1) program focuses on providing equal funding to pre-carded national Olympic and Paralympic Games hopefuls and their coaches. It helps to provide athletes and coaches with the resources necessary to close the gap and achieve national carded status in the short-term, and improve coaching skills over the long-term. All Olympic and Paralympic Games aspirants are eligible for FACE(1) funding and follow the Sport Canada review process to qualify.
