Droid Does Interactive Game Play Ad

High-Tech Game Promotes High-Profile Phone, Provides Consumers With Hands-On Experience

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - December 8, 2009) - Verizon Wireless' much-touted Droid has recently gained further exposure through futuristic interactive storefront dominations in major markets, as part of its extensive marketing campaign.

Orlando-based Monster Media, the global leader of full-body interactive advertising and storefront domination programs, partnered with Zenith Media and mcgarrybowen to create a cutting-edge, virtual game to promote the iPhone's biggest competitor.

Pedestrians activate the ad by placing their hands on the interactive portion of the ultra-thin touch sensitive digital screens. Through the motion of their fingertips, players are able to control the speed and movement of wire frame versions of large robot arms and maneuver the arms to grab as many falling red comets as possible in a race against the clock.

Each comet shows a message about a specific Droid feature, and when the user catches a comet, it then transforms into a Droid phone and points are added to the players score.

High scores are paired with real-time updates allowing users in both markets to compete against each other. This proves the display was not only inventive and attention-grabbing, but smart.

"The client came to us with the task of creating an out-of-home experience that would emulate the dynamic features of Verizon's new phone," said Chris Beauchamp, CEO of Monster Media. "We were able to showcase the phone through this highly customized ad by using unique applications that not only enhance the game and user experience but also mimic the futuristic qualities of the Droid itself." The groundbreaking campaign launched on Nov. 23, in time for Black Friday and within one week accumulated 210 interactions in Denver and 347 players in Seattle. Monster Media continues to track the number of times the game is activated, providing Verizon with a tangible return on their investment.

The storefront dominations are ideally placed in the highly-trafficked areas in downtown Denver and Seattle.
