DuPont Performance Coatings today officially opened its new, state-of-the-art training facility in Pointe-Claire, Quebec.

The facility serves customers located in eastern Ontario, Quebec, the Atlantic Provinces and northeastern United States, and supports a range of industrial segments including collision repair, aviation, industrial coatings, commercial fleet, and OEM heavy-duty truck and bus.

"DuPont is proud to make this world-class training facility available to our customers and distribution partners in Eastern Canada and across N. America," said Ray Anderson, Vice President, Refinish Americas. "It's a tangible demonstration of our commitment to the industries we service and to maintaining our leading market position in Canada."

Construction of the training centre was completed in December 2006. The large, ultra-modern centre features:

- A 12,000-square-foot production area with dedicated paint facilities for DuPont Refinish, Standox® and Spies Hecker® brands, an oversized booth that can accommodate up to 12 students, and the latest equipment for waterborne and solvent-based technologies.

- A 6,000-square-foot office area that contains two large classrooms, a cafeteria and offices.

- The classrooms are equipped with the latest audio/visual equipment and can facilitate long distance training via satellite to make training more convenient and accessible to DuPont Performance Coatings' customers and distributors.

"We have an ongoing commitment to help our customers and distributors become more successful in their business and technical operations, and the training centre will play a key role in helping us meet that commitment," said Brian Edwards, DuPont Performance Coatings Canada Country Manager. "With a low VOC legislation on the horizon, the opening of this training centre ensures our customers in Eastern Canada have access to the training they'll need to make a successful transition to waterborne and low VOC products," added Steffen Apollo, North American Training Manager.

The centre hosts French and English technical training courses, SMART management seminars and distributor training courses. For a complete course schedule, please visit www.performancecoatings.dupont.com.
