ECG Management Consultants, Inc. Announces the Commencement of the 2010 Midwest "Provider Compensation, Production, and Benefits Survey"

ST. LOUIS, MO--(Marketwire - January 21, 2010) - ECG Management Consultants, Inc., one of the nation's premier healthcare management consulting firms, has announced the commencement of the Midwest "Provider Compensation, Production, and Benefits Survey," year 2010 based on 2009 data. The survey will target providers practicing in the Midwestern states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. 2010 marks the sixth year that the Midwest survey has been conducted by ECG, and this survey has become a valuable and respected resource for provider performance benchmarks in this market.

ECG's Midwest survey analyzes and reports information from over 3,300 healthcare providers representing 52 physician specialties and 9 midlevel provider specialties. The survey comprises critical data such as compensation-to-production ratios, including work and total relative value units (RVUs) (calculated by ECG from provider-level CPT code data); procedure code distributions; trends in provider recruiting and retention, including recruiting bonuses by specialty; and specialty-specific benefit and malpractice comparisons. This information, coupled with ECG's interpretation of market trends, enables survey participants to assess their performance relative to the competitive local market.

ECG conducts a number of specialty-specific compensation and production surveys, including studies in the Northwest and Florida, as well as the "National Pediatric Subspecialty Physician Compensation, Production, and Benefits Survey." In addition, ECG conducts many other one-off studies in conjunction with organizations such as the American Medical Group Association (AMGA) and Thomson Reuters. ECG enjoys the support of many respected organizations across our survey products. This support is demonstrated in the following comment made by a past survey participant:

The "added value" of ECG's Midwest survey is the additional insight it
provides on physician compensation trends in my region. The quality of
data is above and beyond the national surveys, and it also offers more in-
depth information regarding physician performance trends. It has given our
medical groups a more thorough understanding of both Illinois and regional
factors impacting our physician practices.

Mr. Stephen R. Voss
Vice President of Finance
Advocate Medical Group, Oak Brook, Illinois
