Before joining ECG, Ms. Merenghi was the Vice President of Operations for a 350-physician enterprise affiliated with a leading St. Louis integrated healthcare delivery system. She also had responsibility for physician recruiting, enterprise information technology, corporate health, retail pharmacies, and optical shops. In her role, Ms. Merenghi developed the "practice of the future" strategic plan and introduced Lean design as an approach to patient-centered care and process redesign within an electronic environment. She formalized and accelerated physician recruiting efforts, resulting in the employment of more than 100 new physicians in 2 years, and she defined a framework for a structured physician practice acquisition/integration process. Under her direction, Epic Systems Corporation's EMR was successfully implemented, within budget and on time, in 92 separate physician practices. Prior to that, Ms. Merenghi served as a Principal with another healthcare consulting firm, where she provided interim executive management services and focused on reengineering, troubleshooting, and implementing best practices within provider and payor organizations. Ms. Merenghi led the start-up and served as Chief Executive Officer of a management services organization (MSO) and primary care network for a leading university, and she has held other senior leadership positions within multispecialty groups and a faculty practice plan. She also was involved in developing a provider-owned HMO and served as its first Chief Operating Officer.
