ECM Leader Nuxeo Wins New Real Estate Customer
Vilogia Chooses Open Source Nuxeo Document Management Software for Unified and Secure Content Management
| Source: Nuxeo
PARIS and BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - January 26, 2010) - ECM company Nuxeo continues to gain
more customers in the real estate and construction markets, including
property management firm Vilogia. The company chose Nuxeo open source
document management software for its rich functionality, ease of use
and standards-based architecture.
Vilogia's ECM Objectives
France-based Vilogia, a privately held property management company, is
using Nuxeo's document management solution to manage information for its
rental portfolio of more than 52,000 units throughout the country. The
company needed not only a unified and secure platform to control documents
within teams and across various departments, but one that also could easily
integrate with existing architecture as well as grow with the company. More
information about Nuxeo's open source
ECM solutions can be found at http://www.nuxeo.com/en/.
"It was essential for us to take control of our IT system and to be able to
manage its evolutions internally, ensuring our autonomy and avoiding vendor
lock-in with proprietary systems. The open source model allowed us to test
and evaluate Nuxeo DM on our own terms before making a choice," said
Christophe Capon, IT Director for Vilogia.
Open Source Nuxeo Ensures Cost-Efficiencies and Self-Sufficiency
Capon also preferred a Java-based solution such as Nuxeo's to match his
internal IT team's skill set. Vilogia selected Nuxeo DM for its functional
coverage, the speed at which the Vilogia team could begin using the
technology and the quality and relevance of its documentation.
"Vilogia has undergone many small mergers, which resulted in a very
heterogeneous IT system architecture. As our business entered a growth
phase, we had to provide a robust, flexible solution for the business
units' requirements for document sharing, exchange, and collaboration,"
said Capon.
The deployment is rolling out in a phased approach. The first two business
units in the pilot will be the IT department and the land management
divisions, which are tasked with finding property most suited to property
development. In total, Vilogia anticipates that more than 1,000 users will
exchange and manage their documents using Nuxeo document management
software.
Next Steps for Vilogia and Nuxeo
Capon sees greater potential to expand its ECM footprint and plans to
integrate Nuxeo DM into the central IT system to manage all document
exchange across the entire company. This system will eventually include a
full-text OCR for capturing and indexing faxes into the document repository
to ensure content of all forms is managed consistently, whether created
internally or incoming from suppliers, contractors or clients.
"Only a robust and extensible solution such as the Nuxeo DM platform could
meet Vilogia's requirements, including their need for high-value
documentation, which reflects the vitality and quality of our community,"
said Eric Barroca, CEO of Nuxeo. "We are pleased to welcome Vilogia to an
already active and vibrant group of customers in the real estate,
construction and engineering verticals."
