The ECT Recovery Committee Announces the Successful Completion of the Consent Solicitation of the Shareholders of Effective Control Transport, Inc.

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 20, 2009) - The Committee is pleased to announce that as of August 18 2009, it delivered written consents to Effective Control Transport, Inc. (the "Company") (PINKSHEETS:EFFC) representing in excess of 63% of the outstanding shares of capital stock of the Company. As a result, the proposals for, inter alia, the removal of the current board of directors and the election of 5 new director nominees (Guy J.C. Benoit, Guy Faucher, Guy-Paul Gauthier, Gib de Medeiros and Mario Naim) have become effective.

In relation to a public statement released today by Mr. Huppe, the Committee wishes to correct the facts as follows:

1. On July 9, 2009 Mr. Huppe obtained an ex parte interlocutory injunction preventing certain director nominees from among other things publishing defamatory material. The motion to obtain this injunction was based on allegations such as: "ECN Holding is majority shareholder of Effective Control Transport, Inc." We have yet to contest the interlocutory injunction and no final judgment has been rendered by the Superior court of Quebec (rather than "of Canada").

2. The interlocutory injunction in no way affects or purports to affect the consent solicitation process or, as Mr. Huppe labels it, "the attempt to take control of the Corporation".

3. The Committee is not aware that any proceedings have been commenced in the Delaware Court of Chancery for validation / invalidation of the election. The Committee would welcome these proceedings.

4. In the opinion of the Committee, the shareholder action is effective when written consents representing not less than a majority of the outstanding common stock are delivered upon the Corporation. As a result, Mr. Huppe has been removed from the Board effective August 17, 2009.
