EDF and Delta Fire Up Dutch Gas-Fired Plant, an Industrial Info News Alert
GALWAY, IRELAND--(Marketwire - February 16, 2010) - Written by Martin Lynch, European News
Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) -- Delta Energy BV (Zeeland,
Netherlands) and Electricite de France SA (EPA: EDF) (Paris, France) have
officially opened an 870-megawatt gas-fired
power plant in Sloecentrale, in the Netherlands. Located at the
Vlissingen port and industrial area in the province of Zeeland, the plant
was officially handed over by main contractor Siemens AG (Munich, Germany) and opened by Dutch Economic
Affairs Minister Maria van der Hoeven. The plant boasts a high efficiency
rating of 59%, thanks to the facility's modern burners, and nitrogen-oxide
emissions are less than 15 parts per million.
