East Asia Minerals Restructures Management

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 11, 2007) - East Asia Minerals Corporation (TSX VENTURE:EAS) announces that Darren Pylot has stepped aside from the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer. He will continue as Chairman of the Board. Michael Hawkins has, in addition to his current responsibilities of President and Director, been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Lionel Martin, previously VP Business Development, has been appointed to the position of Chief Operating Officer. The Company also announces that it is in the final stages of employing a new VP Exploration.

Michael Hawkins joined East Asia Minerals in 2005, serving as VP Exploration until April, 2007 when he assumed the roles of President and Director. Mr. Hawkins has 27 years of diversified exploration and business experience in Asia, North America and Latin America. Prior to joining East Asia Minerals Mr. Hawkins held senior positions as Mongolia Country Manager for AngloGold Ashanti and Chief Geologist for Highlands Pacific.

Lionel Martin joined East Asia Minerals in 2005, serving as VP Business Development. Mr. Martin has 27 years of diversified exploration and business experience in Asia, North America and Africa. Prior to East Asia Minerals Mr. Martin commenced his career with Eldorado Nuclear Limited (Cameco Corporation), following which he held increasingly senior roles with Noranda Inc. where he was most recently Exploration Manager Australasia.

The East Asia Minerals' Management Team would like to acknowledge Darren Pylot's value and efforts as Interim CEO over the past six months. The Company is extremely appreciative of Mr. Hawkins', Mr. Martin's and Mr. Pylot's tireless dedication and drive to facilitate the Company's significant portfolio growth and completion of the September $83 million property sale to CFMM (a subsidiary of Areva NC).
