Easy-to-Use Software, Written by Softjourn, Is Used by MBT to Ease Program Participation

Maximizing the California State Medi-Cal Program for School Districts

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwire - December 23, 2009) - Providing better health care to students in need is a goal of every school district. Public schools receiving reimbursements for linking students and their families to Medi-Cal / Healthy Families Insurance and covered services are finding it easier with the recently released web-based MAATS 2.0 application.

With the new application, Medical Billing Technologies, Inc. (MBT) can now service the same number of clients with half the resources, thereby freeing more personnel to consult with school districts on how to maximize the state Medi-Cal program for their school district. Approximately 25% of MBT's customers are using the new application, with over 2000 users already trained. According to Frank Calderaro, Consultant, MyCIOOnDemand, "MAATS 2.0 is more intuitive than the old system, and it is already enabling MBT to rethink how we deliver services around MAA."

MBT developed MAATS 2.0 in conjunction with Softjourn, a software engineering services firm headquartered in Fremont, CA, with operations in Ukraine. Commenting on the outsourcing arrangement, Mr. Calderaro stated that Softjourn delivers just like their slogan says, "It's not how far away we are, it's how close we work with you!" Calderaro further adds, "I would not hesitate to work with Softjourn again; they did everything that was asked of them and they were very flexible in working within the framework of the project."

School districts contract with MBT for consultation and training services to participate in the Medi-Cal Administrative Activities Program. MAATS 2.0 offers a ground-breaking, intuitive interface leading to a faster time entry and approval process. With this new version and MBT's high-tech high- touch service, districts will see increased revenues -- a hot topic during these tough economic times.
