Ecast Announces Hire of Dan Ackerman for Vice President, Advertising Sales

CBS Ad Veteran Brings Deep Agency Relationships, Cross-Platform Sales Expertise

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - June 15, 2010) -  Ecast, a leader in place-based media solutions, today announced the hire of Dan Ackerman for the position of vice president of advertising sales. Most recently Ackerman served as vice president, worldwide sales and business development for Jivox, a privately held online video ad technology startup providing a video ad platform and network for agencies, advertisers and online publishers. There, Ackerman led the development and implementation of strategic partnerships with comScore Top 500 properties including publishers such as Gannett, Meredith, CBS and McClatchy.

Prior to Jivox, Ackerman spent over a decade with CBS where, as an advertising sales executive, he was involved in developing and taking to market cross-platform advertising and marketing solutions to the biggest national brands. He was instrumental in implementing new pricing and inventory management to optimize sell-through and developing third-party partnerships to generate incremental revenue. As a result, Ackerman has long history and relationships with leading advertising agencies, including MediaVest, Optimedia, Mediacom, Hill Holiday, OMD and Universal McCann.
