The race is sponsored by numerous New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania members of the American Chemistry Council as part of its essential2® campaign, which is designed to raise awareness about the chemical industry and its impact on day-to-day life.

The event takes place on Saturday, April 10th at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ. A 5K run, a 3K walk, a "kids sprint," a fair, raffle prizes and various educational and entertainment activities will take place. This year, Team Elemica's contributions will go directly to the International American Red Cross in an effort to provide humanitarian relief for the people in Haiti who have been affected by the recent devastating earthquake.
