Emergency Mobile Power Uses Device USB Cable to Power and Charge on the Go

TUSTIN, CA--(Marketwire - January 8, 2008) - Tekkeon announces TekCharge™ MP1550, a mobile power device and battery charger that takes advantage of AA batteries to provide emergency power to popular mobile phones, plus many more small portable devices. This tiny device, which uses two or four alkaline or rechargeable AA batteries, can be used with the device USB cable or one of the included seven tips to enable users to get more from their mobile devices -- up to 16 hours of talk time on a mobile phone, five more hours on a PDA, or 20 extra hours of video on iPod classic.

TekCharge MP1550 doubles as a battery charger, charging two or four rechargeable AA batteries via a USB port that connects to a USB power adapter or computer port. And this small mobile charger includes a voltage regulator so it won't harm a device or its battery. Special charging circuitry also ensures that the rechargeable batteries will not be overcharged.

"Rather than requiring a unique adapter tip, or a separate power device for each portable electronic device, TekCharge can connect to a device via the USB cable that comes with the device," says Jerry Yang, president of Tekkeon. "This convenient feature bypasses the need for a device-specific adapter tip."

Most portable devices are often in need of recharging after a few hours of use. With TekCharge MP1550, users will get up to 16 hours of extra talk time on a mobile phone, and can enjoy hours of extended play time on mobile phones, smart phones, PDAs, digital cameras, iPhone, iPod, Zune® and MP3 players, portable CD players, Bluetooth headsets, and other small portable electronic products.

TekCharge comes with a handy tote, plus seven adapter tips for connection to:

-- Blackberry (mini USB)
-- LG mobile phones
-- Motorola mobile phones (mini USB)
-- Nokia mobile phones
-- Samsung mobile phones
-- Sony Ericsson mobile phones

Using the device USB cable eliminates the need for a specific adapter; however, additional adapters are available from the Tekkeon store for devices with a USB cable.
