EnerGov Solutions Selected by Abu Dhabi's Urban Planning Council to Automate Its Development Review Process

DULUTH, GA--(Marketwire - January 26, 2010) - The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC), the agency responsible for the future of Abu Dhabi's urban environment, has selected US-based EnerGov Solutions to automate, streamline and enhance the Council's development review and regulatory land use management process.

"The development review streamlining initiative is an integral component towards ensuring the implementation of the guidelines laid down by the visionary Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 and supporting the mission of Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council," said Saood Al Junaibi, director of development review & urban design, UPC. "The automation of our development review process using such an appropriate internet technology will increase the speed and efficiency and provide outward-facing tools to better collaborate and assist our constituency in the area of electronic plan review and application tracking."

"EnerGov's Rich Internet Application is a perfect fit for Abu Dhabi as its unique software framework is able to seamlessly adapt internationally," says Ryan Hountz, EnerGov's VP of Business Development. "This adaptive framework opens the door for many other agencies internationally in need of state-of-the-art government technology that has, until recently, only been available within North America.

"Equally important is the ability for the emirate to take full advantage of its ESRI GIS infrastructure, enabling the utilization of spatial data throughout the entire automation process," says Hountz. "As a close development partner and recent ESRI 'partner of the year' recipient, EnerGov is committed to delivering the most innovative GIS interfacing technology within our commercial market."

EnerGov Professional Services (global services division) will provide comprehensive professional implementation and training services. The project will be implemented in four phases with the ability to future automate the business processes between UPC and its public and private partners.
